National Veterans Memorial and Museum

Inside the Museum, visitors embark on a narrative journey, following exhibits that focus on the people—the Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, Guardian, Coastguardsman, and their families—from answering the call to duty, to life after military service. Individual stories and shared experiences are illustrated through personal artifacts, quotes, letters, imagery, and powerful films of Veterans telling their unique story in their own words.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

World-class horticulture, art and nature-based exhibitions and educational programs for all ages. Situated on 40 acres on the eastern side of Franklin Park, the Conservatory features the historic 1895 John F. Wolfe Palm House, 83,000 square feet of glasshouses, and botanical gardens.

Jazz & Rib Fest takes place at Bicentennial Park and West Bank Park, 233 Civic Center Dr., Columbus, OH 43215, located along the beautiful Scioto Mile downtown riverfront in Columbus, Ohio.

Welcome to Seattle!

Downtown – the Sheraton Grand is located in the heart of downtown, the financial and main shopping area of Seattle including the flagship Nordstrom store 

Visit the Pike Place Market – the country’s oldest continuously open market that houses the first Starbuck’s . Nearby is the Seattle Art Museum (closed Mondays & Tuesdays) and the Seattle Public Library . Take in the view at the Sky View Observatory on the 73 rd floor of the Columbia Tower.

Waterfront – stairs or elevator down from the Pike Market will take you to our historic and scenic Elliott Bay 

Ride the Great Wheel, visit the giant octopus in the Seattle Aquarium , take a virtual reality seaplane ride over the state at the Wings Over Washington exhibit, or get out on the water – ferries, sailboats, tour boats .

Pioneer Square – 1 to 2 miles south of downtown; this is the first neighborhood of Seattle and is on the National Trust for Historic Preservation 

Take a narrated tour of the Underground , visit the Klondike Gold Rush Museum , one of the smallest national parks in the county. Watch the glassblowers at the Glasshouse Studio , or return to the late 1920’s in the historic Smith Tower .

Seattle Center – 1 mile north of downtown; site of the 1962 World’s Fair 

The iconic Monorai l departs from the Westlake Mall to the Space Needle , Chihuly Garden & Glass Exhibit and the Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP). This 2-minute ride leaves every 10 minutes. Across the street from the Seattle Center you will find the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (closed Sundays & Mondays).

South Lake Union – 6 blocks to 2 miles from downtown; world headquarters of Amazon

View the Amazon Spheres and Amazon Go store a few blocks north of the Sheraton. Continue to Lake Union, a working dry dock as well as home to many houseboats. The Museum of History and Industr y and the Center for Wooden Boats are located here. Watch seaplanes depart and land from the boardwalk located at this end of the lake.

Capitol Hill – 1 to 4 miles east of downtown, uphill; most densely populated neighborhood north of San Francisco 

Featuring shops, cafes, great views from Volunteer Park with a Conservatory , and Arboretum with a Japanese Garden . Visit the Starbuck’s Reserve that’s just a few blocks from the Sheraton.

Ballard – 5 miles north of downtown, was the original fishermen’s neighborhood 

The Ballard Locks are one of the busiest locks in the United States, built by the Army Corps of Engineers. Watch boats go from fresh to salt water and visit the Salmon Ladder . The ‘Old Ballard’ neighborhood on Ballard Avenue is filled with charming shops and cafes. 

Fremont – 3 miles north of downtown, is a unique artsy neighborhood featuring a troll !
